I captured the VHS Hi-Fi mono from a factory sealed tape a while back for a preservation project by TM2YC over at fanedit. They know the minute differences better than anyone. Some of the streaming versions had minor changes even though they didn't have the comic book transitions.

Surprised few have heard of this release here, assumed it was common knowledege to us here, it was discussed big time at the forum with blu in the title when it was first released last year and has been available in the wild since then.

It appears to use the same master as the various hdtv and streaming versions of the theatrical version.

Quote:The 5.1 and 2.0 track has been mixed up on the menu. I selected 5.1 but my receiver switched to Pro Logic II. I switched to the 2.0 and it shows 5.1.

Yep was the same on mine

If anyone wants to chime-in to let us know what except the spotlight scene was edited or messed up from the original theatrical version on this BD (also includes any HD source like Netflix, HDTV Cap and iTunes) I would appreciate it. We need to fix every issue and make this the best fan disc yet.

They probably used the color timing lut for the DC when they timed the TC? Hence the error.

That is probably true, Do you think it could be color corrected or it is beyond saving since it is so blown out?

TM2YC over at fanedit is the guy you should be talking to. He used all available sources and undid several hard to spot changes.

Zoidberg also did a pretty good upscale job of the dvd for the spotlight shot for his Film4HD/Netflix hybrid which still stands up pretty well even compared to TM2YC reconstruction.

And which could also be used to fix the 84 bluray.
