My vote is to grade to the first issue DVD.
Edit: I can rip mine for you if you'd like. I was planning to sync the 5.1 audio since it's not a remix. Thanks given by: Stamper

I have synced the criterion laserdisc to the blu-ray release. It's been posted for awhile on the spleen. Might make life easier for somebody attempting to regrade.
The aspect ratio is a bit off on it though. This was before Chewtobacca kindly sent me to the school of aspect ratio calculation  . I have a new 480p anamorphic version that I've encoded but not uploaded yet that is at the correct AR.

Is there a rip of the MGM DVD in this part of the woods? I'm looking for it because according to a post on the Blu forum, "For the curious if you have any version prior to the Warner DVD reissues you can find the original mix. Easiest to find is the old MGM DVD which is a port of their last and very hard to find LD which was the first release to have a 5.1 rendering."

Wow cool, I assume the one LD rip on the spleen is the same or different? It says only stereo. (it's the CC version) The new 4K is coming so it's time to round up the correct soundmixes for that one. The MGM DVD also seems to have a unique french mix so I'm interested

Since there's a UHD version of 2001 coming out, will you be regrading that? Presumably it's a new master, I don't know for sure.
