Blu-ray subtitle conversion tool (sub2bd)
Ah OK, thanks for confirming. I'm not in a hurry and it's not something I really need that much, so feel free to leave it in if it's more convenient for you.

I think we have an easy fix for this! There is a fork of VSFilter that is still being updated called xy-VSFilter. After swapping out the DLL it loaded right up. Keep in mind though, none of the subtitle renderers for AVS seem to do full-color emoji, you just get the same color as the text. Latest release is available at link below, just copy the 2 DLLs from the zip into your sub2bd folder overwriting the old VSFilter.

Also wondering if xy-VSFilter will fix that timing issue mentioned on the last page when subtitle lines are too close together. I don't think I ever determined if that was avs or avs2bdnxml issue. Will look into it coming up and maybe do a new release after BitPerfect 3.0 is done.

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion but I'm only getting 0 byte output files with those DLLs unfortunately...

I just tried and ran into same problem. Two things: it seems only the 32-bit version of avisynth is working with avs2bdnxml (I need to look into this further), so make sure you use the 32-bit xy-VSFilter DLLs from the x86 folder. I still had a problem after that with empty .sup, but installing the latest version of Avisynth+ fixed that (make sure you install both 32/64 bit versions).

Hi there...

I updated AviSynth and tried to install the .NET Framework 4.0 Runtime. However, the installer says that it is already part of the operating system. It also states that I do not need to install the .NET Framework 4 Redistributable or any higher version.

However, after the conversion, the SUP file is completely empty, even though subtitles are present in the ASS file, hm...

Are you using the original Avisynth or Avisynth+? They are different projects so it can get confusing..

I'm using Avisynth+ 3.7.5.

EDIT: Probably it works.

OK I'm back on 3.7.3 so I will try to update soon and see if there's any difference. Were you sure to install the 32-bit version of Avisynth+ and get the latest x86 DLL from xy-VSFilter releases page? Also when you try to convert the subtitles, it will create a file called script.avs in the same directory that you can then try running directly with Avisynth (AvsPmod works well for running scripts) to see if any error message pops up on that end.

I did look into doing a 64 bit build of avs2bdnxml to get around the 32-bit limitation, but the original project uses a lot of assembly written specifically for 32 bit processors so it would probably entail a rewrite unfortunately.

Personally, nowadays I would recommend this instead:
https://github.com/cubicibo/ass2bdnxml
https://github.com/cubicibo/SUPer

Doesn't rely on AviSynth at all.
