Does the French Netflix copy use localized titles/credits? Could Netflix be using different transfers?

Would a japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 Track (192 kbps) with original Sounds interesting for add to the project?
It is obviously no Mono Track, but contain the original shooting sounds.

I do not know if the japanese Version also got the new 5.1 mix at some point. So, if they got, it might be intersting to add to a reconstruction HD version.

I'll create one or two small sample for you to judge.
I am just shure it is not mono, and it is the originalo shooting.
At least when first Sarah Connor gots assaulted in her home, it is not the light "phew" in the shots, as on the 5.1 english tracks, but the quite quality "BAM".

I just listened to part one, MrBrown. You are right it’s stereoized for sure but it definitely had origins in the remix since it’s missing the sword sound in the credits.

Let me check more of the gunshots in your second sample.

Seems as if Japan got a wide variety of terminator DVD releases.
The one I have in my DVD collection is the, so called, "Ultimate Edition".
It features English 5.1 audio in ac3 and dts. But clearly the remixed with new sounds. While the Japanese is only the stated 2.0.

I found hints that there may also exit releases in Japan with Japanese 5.1 audio. Also as if there where releases with English 2.0 audio.
But these are just "translated" or "user inputs" on different Amazon sites... Obviously done by resellers or third party. So I have no real knowledge on what Japan also got for that movie on DVD...

I just ordered two used Terminator DVDs at amazon.co.jp and hpoing to get old japanese DVD releases, with maybe a japanese mono, because that japanese stereo downmix got me curious what surprises may await on other Japan releases.
Japan seemed to get some unique stuff in the Audio section of some films...

I am still sure that thatjapanese Stereo contains old gun-sounds.

So, I wonder, if there is either an old mono in japanese somewhere, or if japan audio never got the new gun-shot sounds.
Is it possible, that one of the japanese releases contain the 5.1 remix... in 5.1.. with old shots?

the DVDs are announced to arrive February. so, finger crossed for old DVD releases. Maybe the 1998 released one... I hope so, but I fear the worst.

There was a Japanese BD release that had loads of Japanese dubs included. All different TV and cinema dubs. Will see if I can find the link

That's crazy...

But with already waiting for two DVD releases of that film from Japan, I am not going to buy the Japanese BD... Although only the VHS audio seems to contain the old sounds, according to the review...

I also hope for some individual mastering colorwise, IF I get a DVD from 1998. I'll let you know when the stuff arrives. (I hope for old.. But expection just regular new releases... Amazon marketplace always is more like gambling than eBay...)
