Yes the German disc features the blownout spotlight scene. That was the first thing I checked when I got it.
Yea, just checked myself, and Wow! it really is blown out, isn't it, my Sky and Amzn one and (based on Teamblu release) Netflix aren't like that at all. Funny how the original Film4HD version was as well as they all appear to use the same master. Like you said, must of applied the DC color timing.
If it's just that, easily fixed by just using Videoredo to splice in that bit and leaving the rest untouched.

Seriously. It astounds me how this sort of crap goes on. I wonder if we'll ever get a real theatrical version in HD. Maybe one day.

Just wanted to let everyone know that TM2YC over at fanedit.org has had pretty good things to say about this TC BD I got. He said overall it is the TC and only a few shots would need replaced if he is not mistaken. I have another HD source for those scenes as well. He said it would need a color regrade too, but of course we knew that cause it looks like the DC colors. He really knows The Warriors inside and out and is a valuable member to this project. Thanks, SilverWook for recommending I contact him.

Regardless color work is going to take a lot longer but no deal breaker... What were the other shots? Thanks given by: crampedmisfit1990

Thanks, SilverWook for recommending I contact him. He said: "- It has the violet tinged DC grade overall. The TC has a slightly warmer grade on the skintones. - The Police lights shot is so massively over brightened that it is beyond fixing, half the image is blown out to white. The following shots are probably a little over brightened too. - The Lizzie's clubhouse scene was much darker on the DC and I think it's darker here too. - The beach finale is again the DC grade which makes it look cold, the TC has a warmer golden sunlight type tint I think this is the same transfer that was on itunes. Like that release, it looks so close to the DC in terms of grade, texture and detail that I can only assume it's sourced from the old files that were used to prep the DC release, before Walter Hill came in and changed stuff (although it does have that police light shot altered, so I don't know?). This would make a great primary source for a fan regrade. They'd only need to swap out the police shot for an upscaled DVD shot and fix the grade." So I would assume the TC DVD would be the basis for a regrade. Thanks given by: PDB

Glad I could be of help.
The U.S Laserdisc came out in 1981. There was a Japanese LD in 1986, but it is very pricey for some reason. The asking price on the LDDB for one is $275! Based on my experience chasing down multiple LD editions of Grease for the stereo mix, Paramount might not have remastered it for any other pressing. Thanks given by: crampedmisfit1990 , PDB

Nevermind, I looked the Japan LD up and it also only features a analog track. They have a copy on ebay for around $60 atm.
