So I checked around, and on the internal organ there's a WebDL from 2015 which has the french and spanish mono mix in AAC. This may be of interest as they are all apparently already synced to the TC which looks to be still the same master as the AU. I expected the english mono mix to be there, but it's still that 2.0 port instead.
EDIT: both the french dub and spanish dub are perfectly in sync with the AU disc. I just added them. Now all that is left is syncing a mono track and the alternate track with different songs on it.

I take it then the compression is same/better than DE (Imprint are up and down with their encodes, Audrey Rose was dire), or are you still not at that stage.

I have found on my shelves the DE disc, will run it tonight to check.

So it looks like the DE disc is more compressed than the AU, so that one would be prefered.
The 2.0 is the same as the AU, ie the original stems in stereo instead of folded down to mono.
The DE disc has the DE audio so I'll have to rip this to check if it is in sync with the AU, I'm guessing it is.
For the mono I have two options, either I rip the AU and I fold down the mono track, with nice sounding results, or I try to sync the old DVD or the VHS, however imho they sound lesser, and I read that the TC as found on the DE and AU has frames differences with the DVD as it is a reconstruction. I don't think it's worth the time to resync, the fold down experiment might be the way to go for the option.

I have the DVD mono synced to the DE BD if it's of any use.

Nice, yes I could check if the DE and AU are in sync, and just add it

Well, color me surprised that it is better than the DE. The Imprint Audrey Rose was double the bitrate and size of the US Kino yet was full of compression artifacts, ended up using it though to create a LUT to fix the gamma issue on US, so it had its uses.
Now looking more forward to your finished project, Stamper, thanks for confirming.

I would need to rip the DE to see them side by side if there's any PQ improvement or not. But so far, the AU bigger size points to better compression, though this will need some caps comparisons.

But bigger size doesn't always mean better quality, as you know, it is how them bits are attributed and encoded and for which Imprint are notorious for very poor encodes, my example above, Audrey Rose and also Breakdown are very poor in comparison to their US counterparts. Lets hope you are right though Stamper and it is better as there has been other encodes which they have supposedly got right, its hit or miss with them. I could get it myself and check but as your improving the sound, might as well wait.

Hopefully they are both in sync, which will make life easier for swapping the audio tracks!
