[Canceled] Tremors Regrade (Project CRT #0 v1.0)
#41
Like you've pointed it out, the BD is indeed over-sharpened to feel and look more "detailed", but don't you think there's a slight decrease in detail & little bit blurred in the regrade ? (When zoomed in, esp. at the bottom holes of the rings of the transformer at the left-hand side of the image).
The transfer in tint is absolutely looking great by giving a little bit of "warmness" instead of that "washed off" colors in the BD, just like how the Universal Studios corrected the colors in the Gladiator Remastered BD.

So just my concern, do you think the whole movie will look more softer and less in popped up detail ?

Lol it figures after I had finally finished the video. Ah well, I think I can cancel this project now with a better master coming. That was a waste of time but at least I learned some things about EE removal.

WOW that's fantastic news! Gorgeous looking edition!

PDB,

did you have the chance to compare the LD tracks (Signature x Regular)? These tracks will probably be a great additoin to this set.

I saw the announcement for the new Arrow release this morning and immediately thought of your project. Your hard work is still appreciated! Smile

So I guess everybody got the news, but Arrow Video is probably going to do fine with this new transfer.

Same. They rarely if ever completely botch a restoration or release (though sometimes if they use a HD master prepared by the rightsholder, they're at the mercy of whatever flaws it has).

Doombot pointed out pics are up on caps:

Looks much better but I was surprised to see the colors are pretty close to the same. So this project might not be totally dead.
