Not yet. Sadly he's not feeling too well today so wasn't able to chat much. Format questions are literally next on my list though. I think another user has told me that he delivers on hard drives, I think that's fairly standard. I will keep you posted.

Probably a question too early to ask, but how will the audio be handled? Will it be recreated, or sourced from the print? I assume this cut doesn't exist on home media anywhere, at least in fidelity that would fit the picture quality.

The print has been dubbed into Russian, so won't be the primary source of the audio. I'll still try and preserve it as a curiosity though.
I've already carried out standard definition preservations of both the US and EU cuts, and in both cases the best audio we could find were from laserdiscs, using bit perfect copies of the uncompressed PCM tracks.
The US LD audio can be pretty much used as is for restoring the US Theatrical Cut. There are many dubbed versions of the EU cut available, some in high quality, but until recently the only know English language audio known of for the EU cut was on a Hong Kong laserdisc which I spent quite a long time tracking down. Other sources have now been found but they aren't as high quality and some are cut. The HK LD was made from a 35mm print, so it's got a very theatrical sound, but sometimes gets a bit distorted. For my SD preservation of the EU cut I used the HK audio and patched the distorted sections with audio from other sources, mainly the German DVD.
When we get around to tackling the EU cut of the film I'll probably use this patched audio as a starting point. If the audio from the print is in good condition then it might prove a better source for patching the distortions.

Once you get the donation page set up, if it's alright with you I could share it around to maybe get more people to donate.

Do you have any recommendations for a donation page? I was just going to ask for donations to a PayPal account, that's how I've seen other users raise funds on here and other places. I thought about maybe doing something like GoFundMe but I'm not quite sure if they'd allow anything so legally "grey" as this.

I do not recommend to make a donation page.
Getting a 35mm print scanned privately is kind of thin ice. If you would do so with a D*s*ey print, you even might end up in heavy legal issues with that company. Especially if you would state that the scanned result might be shared with the donors.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Might just stick with a PayPal "Donate" button.

Since it's an open forum, perhaps not talk about donations to be honest.
might be worth asking an admin for some assistance to get this project going.

I could maybe message spoRv and ask his opinion. In his rules for the forum he does mention that donations are ok.
