As cool as it was to see the DC, I find the change in the look of the film stock on the bluray I have to be distracting, when it switches to newly inserted footage.

Come to think of it, it's the MGM DVD I'm referring to. Has the difference in film stock issue been resolved for the BD releases?

Starz has been showing RoboCop lately and its the theatrical cut so if anyone gets the HD version of that channel keep an eye out. There's also an HD version on Xfinity OnDemand but its the DC although the sequence where Bobby's knee is shot is identical to the TC.

Am I the only one who misses this logo at the start of RoboCop??

The closeup of Joe and Emil during Murphy's flashback in the hospital was very dark in the previous BD release. Was this fixed?? Also a question about the closeup of Boddicker before he goes over the cliff. On the original VHS there was some type of 'greenish light' reflecting on his face. Most subsequent releases showed less green in this shot however it returned again for the 2007 release. Is the green there in the 2014 release??

Has that intro ever been released on a blu-ray in 16:9 & HD? I've started on the project in terms of cutting both versions into parts to work with so I'll have a look at your queries on the 2014 DC next time I'm working on it.

I was mucking about with the remastered blu in make mkv a while back and a surprising number of titles came up, with additional languages like Japanese etc. I guess the disc was mastered with many locales in mind. Might the theatrical cut be in amongst those? It would be good to see the original cut again, as has been mentioned already the restored footage does stick out a bit.

I had another look and yeah the theatrical isn't there. It's one of those discs where the actual stream is broken into separate files which made me think it was some kind of seamless branching affair. Are any of the web downloads the original cut? In any case good luck with the project!
