There are even a couple cells from the trailer (including the "I swear I will not kill anyone" alternate take).
Looking for the "right" Terminator 2 color grading...

I think I might have one of those film strips...
[Image: s-l1600.jpg] A little Christmas pressie for myself. This is the seller's photo. I also got a set of 5 strips from The Terminator from a different auction. Just need to find a way to accurately scan them.

Here is where I left of with my regrade, taken what I had done in my HD regrade and moving it to my open matte upscale. I looked at a ton of 35mm frames, lds, DVDs, telesyncs and trailers
DVD / DVD regraded The DVD has terrible pinks
Nicely done.
In my opinion the regrade seems a tiny notch to greenish. Just scratching the surface to the point where skin tones seem unhealthy. EDIT: Cool, my DVL-909 has an AC3RF Out. Too bad my PC only has Stereo in...

PDB, happy to see the magenta is gone; but IMHO the regraded version is a bit too much teal - that, like MrBrown said, leads to greenish faces; still, way better than the original!

Well that's one of my questions. How much green and how much purple. Some prints have a lot of green and look teal others less

The biker bar scene is back to where it looked like in theaters originaly! Cool

I think the regrades look great personally with just the right amount of green and purple. T2 on home video always looked like it was balanced towards magenta, and you've finally compensated for that.
As we saw with that obscure 35mm-scourced German T1 DVD, teal was very much present in the grading of these films.

Oh, BTW color grading, I just put up an additional sample of that squeeze LD.
For those who got the link (it's the same link, just an additional file there): this time it is just a six minute sample from the second side, and not the complete side, so the file is much, much smaller. The colors look different from the known home releases.

(This post was last modified: 2016-12-26, 12:13 AM by TServo2049.)
Was that 35mm screening footage on YouTube taken into account for those regrades? I know someone (dvdmike? Beber?) swore that footage did not match the look of the print(s?) he had seen before. That print came from a private collection IIRC, it was not rented from Sony Repertory. I know some online summaries for past screenings credit Sony Repertory, so there may be a print/prints that are rented out that look different. (I remember someone else took notes from an Alamo Drafthouse screening which seemed to indicate the print he saw had more teal and purple and less blue+orange?)
