It seems that the LD is the same master from what I can see (cuts, damage, dirt, etc) but the DVD has a pink/magenta/red tint to it versus the LD which has a more yellow tint. I kind of expected the tint on the DVD since it seems that some of the 1st gen DVDs from Warners used LD masters and added a pink/magenta/red tint (see Blade Runner)

You can see the difference but overall the LD is pretty close to the DVD especially when compared to the BD

I'm leaning towards the LD as a better source for colors.
Thanks for doing this. This is what I have wondered about for some time. I only have the DVD and BD but those images concur with my experiences-especially with WB.
The big differences are in the formats and how they were mastered. PDB was right to bring up BLADE RUNNER as the DC CAV LD is wonderful compared to the poor 1997 DVD. I do think the LD shown here suffers from the typical slight contrast push they typically did back in the day (worst of all on the Batman series) but reveals the flipside of what the DVD does. To be really sure I'll have to get the LD myself and run through comb filter onto the CRT then toggle with the DVD.
Jonno's audio comparison is probably spot-on. The later the disc, the more serious they usually were about transfers. Being WB, they would also recycle them into DVD 100%. Being a 1994 release I would assume they went back to the Dolby Stereo master.
I still remember the cinematographer somewhere saying how he had to keep going back to the lab to push the film further to achieve the wasteland look. Apparently they shot it and the first result was practically what we see on the BD.

A few of those reasons are why I'm trying to grade based on a mix of the two. Each has their pluses and minuses. Having gone through both completely I lean more towards the DVD, since the LD has a few shots that are inexplicably blown out (sky is white on the LD, blue on the DVD). I can only assume the LD master went through some more work before it came out as the DVD master.
