#31
I will try to snap pictures of my TV so that you see how it looks. Will do a search so that you can know where it is too.

Holy Drokk! I recorded True Lies this week on my HDR when it aired on NRJ12, just to see.
Just put the recording on... IT COMES COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL FRENCH LOCALIZED CREDITS AND TITLES AND THE ORIGINAL COLOR TIMING OF THE FILM!

It's progressive, none of that interlaced stuff from the D-Theater that you also can find on all progressive scans on other TV rips from the film (english recorded etc.) based on the same master. All blue in the night scenes, contrast to dark you can hardly make the stuntmen faces in the opening...

Remember how the highlights are clipped in the HD master? Here it's hot but NOT AS CLIPPED! It looks like film! It has the french dub + original english in stereo.

Only problem is the station logo. And it's Pal format. It's 2.35:1 Now how can someone transform the file into a mov file ? Recorded with SFR box.

I recorded it also on my Freebox. It's 1080i 1440x1080, .m2ts with aac audio, at least 2 commercial breaks, logos and reminder of what you're watching popping up after each break, plus fastforwarded ending credits.

Great your recording is probably better than mine! I'm sure we can restore it mixing it up with the starz version matted.
Mine is pixelated near the end, but it airs again on the night of 17/10 so I will record it again just in case.

Re Warriors I snapped pictures on my iPHone, will post them from there.

I'm not sure that mine will be better, as my connection ain't that great and gives not very high bitrate. I will also rerecord it in a few days to secure it, in case of glitches and, you never know, they might place the commercial breaks at different times.

Also, the French burnt-in subtitles are not the actual originals from back then. They've been redone.

Yes I noticed the burn in were different, did you notice how much image we see in comparison with the NRJ cap? I would love to compare with the DTheater. Color timing is different too. My recording goes bad towards the end for unknow reasons (tons of pixels) so I count on the rerun to have everything clean. Now I need to find online how to rip SFR box recordings, apparently they are encrypted.

You just need an hdmi capture device/card that 'forgets' the hdcp. Failing that, a signal splitter that strips hdcp to feed the capture device.

Thanks a lot for the pic, Stamper! It doesn't look to be the original title at all though. Pretty much looks like a redone version with different font used.
