I meant 253 though, not 235. 235 is obviously way too extreme to be tolerable. Or is that your own suggestion?
Not sure if I like the new version. Did you just keep the complete BD luma for that?
Also, I'm getting you the Japan Blu Ray. Don't even try to protest.

No no, I meant 235... and I know, it's too extreme, alone; yet, mixed with BD luma, it works quite good.
Dunno why you don't like the new regrade, tough; yes, in some shots the old one has a better contrast, but the new one has better one on more other shots, plus no macroblocks, and now color grading is way closer to DVD DE (that, even if we do not know if it has the "right" grading, it's still our favourite, isn't it?)
Can't I protest? OK, let's see if the Japanese BD has not macroblocks, and I *may* give it a try using contrast from DVD DE alone!

Will take a day or two to get it.
Have you tried 253, though? The macroblocks seem to come from the values between 253-255, so doing that gets rid of them, at least in the screenshots of the scene you posted. And I mean on the raw source (blu ray), not on the regrade!

I'll chime in with support for regrade2! Very exciting! Regarding English dub release, it certainly would be done for US market but it never went there so I doubt there is one.

Depending on how fast the Japanese disc would be needed, I may help.
I have that at home... But would not be accessible before Christmas.

It's ok, I got it. I've already started downloading and tracker rules say I have to finish downloading it anyway. :
Will take about 5 days at current speed.

I have tried to level the BD at 253 (and lower), yet the problems arise... I think the better way is the one I followed last (using highlights from BD); it is still a compromise, but the best one - sure, I'll try again with the JP BD!
Watching at the before/after regrade, the actual color grading reminds me "The Matrix" BD... so green; I do not like it at all, and love DVD DE grading instead!
Audio: found in my HDD a Spanish 4.0 SDU4 track... I'm guessing who have sent me! it can be possible to add .1 and surround channels from the French track.

Just out of curiosity, can you show an example of the problems that arise when you try with 253?
Yeah old one's definitely greener, I wonder why. But some scenes look a bit more accurate to the DVD DE.
Hehe, yeah gee I wonder who sent you that.

Actually, setting 253 instead 255 in the BD source solve the macroblocks problem; yet, other problems remains, as you can see here: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/125917
