To each their own. I own over 100 4K discs, and Superman is the only one I don’t like at all. Looks dark, dingy, and the gamma is totally wrong. I don’t know how to describe it except “off”. No other 4K disc looks like this on my OLED. It’s as if the colors are dimmer or something. Not a fan at all. By contrast, I threw on the Blu-Ray again just to see if I was nuts...and everything looked fine.

ok, so the best tracks for the theater cut, are the 5.1 dd from the new 4k disc (the 70mm 6 track), and the 2.0 pcm from the laserdisc...that's right?
which one's the better?

Isn't the 2.0 from the Laserdisc based on the Dolby Stereo mix which has inherent flaws? The 5.1 70mm mix would sound better as despite being lossy, is a different mix that sounds fuller and dosen't have front channel bleeding into the surrounds like the DS mix.

as i don't have 4k equipment , can i remux the 70mm 5.1 track with the theater's cut bluray from the box set, without resynch?

I thought most of the widescreen LDs had the Dolby Stereo mix. Are you referring to a rare JP LD with the 70mm mix?
