was only upscaled on a HD channel unfortunately
but is full screen rather that the cropped version thats on the DVD

I didnt re- encode it because it's not that big a file for a 1080 capture,
and also havent a program that will crop the black bars on a TS file and also re encode it in one go,
so would have needed to mess with it at least twice.

Yesterday and today, I've been playing with the editing section in Resolve, and this is what I came up with:



I have uploaded this 3min30 clip that covers the opening scene and shared the link with those interested so far, those who have commented and helped in acquiring some of the films involved. If somebody else wants to see it, send me a PM.

Here are the latest developments: after further tests and conversations with Ilovewaterslides, I went with a 2.20:1 AR like the 70mm that never was. And I made some progress: 7 1/2 minutes at the moment (10%) with some color correction.

Haven't actually seen this one, just scrolled the beginning of the DVD reconstruction a bit. Looks like it's nuts in a French kind a way Will wait for your HD reconstruction. The opening titles lettering looks good judging by the thumbnails.

It's obviously better if you speak and understand French. But I have the intention to make French en English subtitles to go with it. I think I'll make a bonus subtitle track that indicates which movie is used for each shot as it's a nutty editing job: just for the opening credits, you have The Arrangement, Harper, Freebie and the Bean, Mad Max and Bullit.

I don't understand French, except few phrases and cuss words Will you use YT English subs? Are they good, in your opinion?
And subtitle commentary is great idea.

Beber I found a DVD copy in my shelf, of the film, and I'm pretty certain this was direct from the master. made in the nineties. I need to check, I forgot as this is 20 years old.
