First off, thanks so much for the work you do, I've been a lurker/fan for a while now (both here and originaltrilogy).

@jerryshadoe - sword in the stone is absolutely beautiful. i lurked on the trail end of your in-progress thread, and have REALLY enjoyed the final product. A good friend of mine is both a Disney fan and a sound installer for the hollywood-powers-that-be, and he did a double take when hearing the LD audio while seeing the open matte presentation (he has the LD, asked "What, How???!!!").

Absolutely amazing - thank you for the time and care you put into it! And while on the thanks-train, I have to say thanks to the entire thread, as it's been a great education.

Now time to be a tool myself..

Can someone provide a simple how-to with pictures for combining separately captured sides of a laserdisc using Virtualdub? I've got the SE Trilogy and TPM captured. I used 1 disc for each side so that I could combine them and edit out the side breaks. I am unsure as to how I would properly edit out the blank frames properly so that all sides fit together without losing any audio or frames. Having visual examples with some basic instructions would be easy for me to work with.

I'm in search of fans so that we can get finally some of the Season 1 of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE episodes uncut.

I'm looking for someone still owning a VHS version, probably UK in Pal format of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE S01E01 UNCUT so that we might preserve it.

For anyone not informed, the current master that is available on DVD and iTunes HD is cut, especially in the beginning of the episode.

Here's the cuts

- As Briggs arrives in the warehouse, he wanders about, then he eyes the woman, and walks to her. In the official DVD, he doesn't wander, we do see him eyeing the girl, then immediately he's through the door. The scene is reduced, for no apparent reason.

- After the record self destruct, we miss shots of Briggs arriving at home, dresses off, pours himself a drink, grabs the folder. The available episode resumes right there, missing the whole action. You can hear there's a cut because the music abruptly changes and can see the drink on the table, that is almost empty since Briggs savored it while thinking the mission.

I think there is more. The late 90's UK VHS were complete and uncut. One would like a preverv.

There are other cuts in season 1 episode, including one episode that have the mission tape scene replaced with one from another episode, with just the actual audio from the episode edited in place.

Used to be a member over at AMPS before the reddit migration.  Looking forward to seeing some interesting projects coming out of the community.

Ok, so I'm working on a multi-source project at the moment that contains video streams with three different frame rates: 23.976 - 29.97 - 59.94 - ALL progressive video(!!)

I need footage from all sources (I have 27 videos that are split between these three frame rates) and am wondering how to go about making everything play as smooth as possible.

My biggest problem here is the video that is at 23.976fps, because for the other two; I can either double the 29.97fps video stream or drop/blend (although don't want to blend) half the frames of the 59.94fps video stream BUT how do I "conform" the footage from the 23.976fps video??

Any suggestions are welcome because this is so broad of a topic that google yielded me nothing useful
