I keep meaning to do a proper rip and sync.I own the Back to the Future 35th anniversary Set (standard Blu-ray version same transfer as the 4K set back in 1080p and Previous Blu-ray 5.1) but I wanna know what’s the difference between the DVDs 5.1, Blu-ray 5.1, and the Atmos mix exclusive to the 4K set.
A handful of syncs I've done to 4K titles:
Smokey and the Bandit (DVD mono source)
Batman 89 (DVD 5.1 AC3 source)
Fellowship of the Ring (both the DVDs AC3 5.1 ex track and the DTS cinema track at 44.1khz 24fps)
Braveheart (Blu-ray TrueHD 5.1 source but I really want to get the tracks off the LD)
Back to the Future (DVD AC3 5.1 source)
Shrek (DTS Cinema Source, as well as the original DVDs AC3 and DTS tracks)
I also did the DTS-ES discrete track of Gladiator to the Blu-ray which may or may not sync to the 4K release. That track is VICIOUS.
Edit I knew there was something a bit wonky with Top Gun in Atmos. As for the 1st dvd not sounding so as good as the THX LD AC3 It could be compression.
