I prefer your first version, it has more the LD color timing feel.

The point is not for it to look too much like the Blu-ray.

I think the 75/80 looks great. The first ones colours look a bit too much.

Agree, 75/80% is good and not too much saturated... IMHO of course!

(haven't seen it in motion, so --) I think general consensus might be right go with either 75 or 80 depending on color bleeding or not. 80 probably could be a good balance. I'm nostalgic for that LD feel.

Not wanting to derail this thread, but did anyone think about regrading The Matrix, so that it looks like an 80's film? ie no more green, but strong blues.

Also, was browsing the T2 supplements of the DVD, and Cameron goes in the transfer section how much he likes the cold cyan look with a lot of orange. Thats was 1993. Interesting.

Ok back online after windstorms in our area killed the power. Thanks for the opinions. So looks like the consensus is the 75% mix. In going in a changing the saturation, some parts begin tend closer to the look of the DVD (ie pale but without the pink). Overall it's still unique over the DVD especially in the blues, right or wrong. I'll post a few more pics later.

Stamper did you ever see what the matrix theatrically looked like when the pics where posted on the old board, very different from the bd or DVD

One more vote for 75%, I don't think a film like Aliens should be too bright and overbearing...

I just know both the DVD and the Blu-ray of Matrix looks off.

Regarding Aliens, perhaps you would need to go 75% in most the film, and 80% in parts that will appear washed out, so that i's consistent.
