Let's have a look at FilmBarCodes to see how different the two color gradings are: top BD, bottom LD:
It's one of the rare cases of Teal&Orange-withouth-Orange... everything is teal/green on BD, while LD has other colors - blue, cyan, light brown... it's nice to have such barcodes to make comparison on the fly on the whole movie!

Not sure if this has been posted but certainly supports the idea of the LD being most accurate:

Well it's for certain the Blu is a revisitation. It never was sold as "just like the original", IMHO it's based on Blade Runner FC color timing cause JC is a big admirer of Scott.
That trailer is too orange brown btw. The LDs are the most close to the original Aliens, trailers don't count esp this one as about 80% of the footage is not in the film.
You wanna know the funny that would be? Fox contact you, and release a special edition of Aliens with all the different colors timing, just like the Blade Runner one lol, one the TV cut with the THX timing, the other this one, and the new one the main.
Now, they would rake in the big bucks!

I have found 35mm strips of Aliens on eBay, much like the Terminator films (and from the same seller, so the images look good). I can tell they're not from a trailer because, aside from not being scenes that were in the trailers, the two soundtracks are different (I believe nearly all trailers back then were mono, so when I look at pictures of film strips for stereo films I always look at the soundtrack).
Stamper, how do these compare to the Blu-ray? (I don't own it so I can't judge for myself.)

There are more, but I am picking the ones which have visibly different sound channels, since I am not 100% sure which shots weren't in the trailers.
I have some on my google drive, not as many as the Terminator films or BTTF or others, but here they are:

An interesting thing about Servo's 35mm frames is that they look close to the laserdisc but with some difference like the final conflict with the queen is more neutral in the LD and more blue in the 35mm pics.

These grabs do not look like any copy I've ever seen. I saw the 70mm on release week in the US, saw the film again several times after that on 35mm.
The VHS/LD were too blue to accomodate the TV sets then. The film is in-between the LDs and Blu.

I tested this theory - 50% BD, 50% Fundamental Collection (regraded to PAL UK LD), and I must admit result is very good; green from BD is gone, and replaced with a lighter blue than LD; pale skin on BD and too red on LD are balanced; it recalls quite well those film cells.
