Mortal Kombat (1995) Open Matte composite |

Hey friends,
Thought I would take a stab at an open matte version using the FS DVD and 1080p blu ray. (detail preserving upscale on the SD footage > match colour to blu ray > reposition cuts )
I can't for the life of me figure out the avisynth script method to creating open mattes and the test below was made by hand with about 1 days work. I initially even tried exporting all frames and running a custom action in Photoshop to align layers but it didn't work as intended.
Audio is obviously temp so ignore that but open to hearing thoughts about proceeding and if anyone knows any other sources I should be using. To the best of my knowledge I haven't seen any HD broadcasts online with more picture information. Not all shots in the FS dvd are open so the plan is to just occasionally cut to the WS blu when needed (probably very few shots). But you can see that in my test below.
Test (if this small portion isn't allowed under the rules let me know and I'll remove, thanks!):

Amityville 3-D - Aligned |

The Shout Factory BD of Amityville 3-D (1983) has a fine transfer (of an alternate version) that maintains the flaws that you'd see in an original 35mm print. Namely, it keeps the alignment errors that are part of the original photography. I aligned each shot to minimize vertical parallax, making the 3D easier on the eyes.
If anyone has access to the original titles and effects shots that are missing on this disc, I'd be up for revising this.

Available as a frame-packed 3D BD. Must provide blanks, postage, and proof of purchase. PM for details.

So I browsed a bit the web, to no avail.
I like to collect DVDs that are either dual sided, or DVD-9, holding both widescreen and open matte versions of films.
Most of those were released in the early days of DVD from 1997 on.
Anyone could help build a more complete list by contributing, please feel free to post titles here.
Some of those I come across:
- Batman
- Batman Returns
- Batman Forever
- Batman & Robin
- Bronco Billy (actually it's cropped on the sides)
- Cobra
- The Crow (2 disc set)
- Dark City
- Dr No
- Evil Dead 2
- The Exorcist
- Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer
- From Russia With Love
- Goldeneye (Pan & Scan side)
- Goldfinger
- Hang'Em High
- Hellraiser
- Hellraiser 2
- Jumper
- Last Action Hero
- Memphis Belle
- Men In Black
- Nightmare on Elm Street (all 7 of them)
- Payback
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse
- The Specialist
- Speed
- Starman
- Super Speedway
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Total Recall
Don't hesitate to add. Also feel free to point cases like Bronco Billy, where they cropped the sides instead of open-matting.

The Tall Man.
My first project here, but on my blog, it will be number 114.
I started this project a few months ago but at the same time, I was working on the Hannibal TV show edits.
That was a lot of work, so I did that first
So the project was going back on the self, and next week I put my hands on it again to finish it.
It's a two in one edition of Phantasm, Phantasm Oblivion, and some inserts of Phantasm II
The first idea was to do a two in one edition of Phantasm and Phantasm II but that didn't work because the part of Mike was done by another actor
Somehow it didn't work for me so I had to do something else with it
It's gonna be a two hours cut, in DTS 7.1 surround taking from blu-ray source, and somewhere in June it's done

Hi there,
I think the horror fan addicts will know me from other sites, and if you don't, well for 6 years now I make edits mostly from horror and fantasy films
I made more than a hundred fan-edits and I think it would be nice to discuss OR put some of my future work here
At the moment very busy with remakes from older stuff I did, but in the upcoming months there will be also a bunch of new ones
Well, that's it!
