So guys, I have an opportunity to import a Shure HTS 3500 from the US. But the thing is it's a US machine, which works on 120V/60Hz power. So my question to you - what would be the easiest/cheapest way for me to adopt it to the European voltage (220V/50Hz)? 120V to 220V step up would be a no brainer, just use the power converter, but 60Hz to 50Hz makes it a little trickier (at least for me!). I did a bit of research online but somehow did not get a clear answer about what power converter I should be using fot this. I also read that some 60Hz machines play just fine on 50Hz and I should not bother at all. Maybe this is the case with this one too? My limited technical knowledge prevents me from making any kind of (un)educated guess!  Any advise is really appreciated!

Caught this on TV today, and noticed the transfer was taken from a print. Specks, scratches and cigarette burns, as well as that typical look and colour.

I wondered if the Blu-ray is like that and after looking up caps it is not!

Anyone know what is the story with the aspect ratio on this? Theatrically it was 2:39:1 according to imdb, but on every home video release it has been either 2:10:1 or 2:09:1. I don't really get why they would change the aspect ratio like that?

Now with the Theatrical Stereo Mix and 5.1, and here I thought Sony would never reissue the 1st 2 films with more audio options but now that Afterlife also been announced for the same day on BD/UHD.  But $150 though for new extras, I don't know. (BTW: Same 4K master used on both MI4K's and UHD which great)

So an upcoming project will be the uncut DC of Scream. I will be using the recent remastered blu ray, the Japanese/German uncut DVDs (hopefully using spoRv's PANup technique) and the audio from the laserdisc. I don't have the Japanese DVD in my hands yet but will do in the next few days, however I read somewhere that it was a port of the Laserdisc so I'm expecting the color to look largely in line with the laserdisc image.

Just wondered what people's thoughts on the color was? Initially I didn't think the Blu Ray looked to bad, perhaps a bit too bright, but on a few of the screenshots I can see quite a difference in blue/teal. Would you keep the blu ray colors or do a full regrade?

Blu Ray / DVD / LD

I noticed tonight that the Tarzan Blu-ray has a lossless DTS-HD MA track that is 5.0.
Yet the European discs have a lossy DD 5.1 640kbps track.

Anyone know anything of the details or quality of the LFE channel on the Euro discs?

I was pondering if the LFE track could be synced to the DTS assuming it isn't crap.
